Fresh Mangosteen (Manggis Fruit)
Mangosteen has been called the queen of fruits for centuries, partly for its regal purple rind and partly because Queen Victoria was rumoured to offer titles to anyone who could deliver fresh mangosteen to her table. We can confirm the fruit is special; we cannot offer knighthoods. Crack open the reddish-purple rind and you find a flower-shaped cluster of creamy white flesh with a flavor profile that splits the difference between lychee, strawberry, and peach. Manggis fruit (the Indonesian name) is native to Southeast Asia and now ships to the U.S. in limited windows. Each fresh mangosteen fruit box contains 3, 5, or 7 pounds of hand-picked purple mangosteen, sourced through our partners and air-shipped to Miami before going out to your door. Free U.S. shipping and the Arrive Fresh Guarantee cover every box.
Why Choose Mangosteen Fruit from Tropical Fruit Box?

Best Mangosteen Fruit For...
A First Taste of the Queen of Fruits
The best mangosteen fruit for first-timers is the small 3-pound box. The reddish-purple rind takes practice to crack cleanly; about ten mangosteens give you room to figure it out before going larger.
Sharing the Mangosteen Experience
The best fresh mangosteen box for sharing with family or guests is the 7-pound size, which holds enough purple mangosteen to introduce the flavor to a group. The flower-shaped flesh segments are easy to portion.
Mangosteen Smoothies and Sorbets
The best mangosteen for blended drinks and frozen desserts is whatever box matches your batch size. The creamy flesh blends easily, and the lychee-strawberry-peach flavor profile holds up against yogurt, citrus, and coconut milk.
Connoisseur Tropical Fruit Boxes
The best mangosteen fruit for connoisseurs and tropical fruit collectors is the 5-pound box, the right balance for one or two people who want to eat manggis fruit slowly over a week without rushing.

By popular demand, here it is, the almighty lime! Funny story, in some countries they call them lemon because this is the most popular variety that everyone consumes. That's why when you are drinking that margarita, you'll most likely get a lime wedge but I digress.
We love everything about limes, the flavor, the nutrients and how they pack that Vitamin C punch. The juice of 5 limes will take care of the recommended Vitamin C for a whole day, they are known to prevent kidney stones and help to absorb iron.

If you haven’t tried Tropical Avocados, you are in for a treat. To my family, the Tropical Avocado has always been known as an Aguacate, pronounced (ah-gwa-kah-tee). This variety is a staple food in the Caribbean and Latin America where it’s been the most popular variety for generations.
Tropical Avocados are also known as green skin avocados because of their shiny and gorgeous shade of green. They are a source of good fats, are hearty, yummy, and are full of nutrients.
How do Tropical Avocados taste like?
When it comes to taste, they are pretty similar to the Haas avocado although slightly sweeter. They are creamy, luscious, and delicious. They spread very easily and have a buttery and creamy smooth texture. They have a light yellow and green color inside, and the seed can be brittle but that’s OK. The reality is that they are very similar to the avocados you are used to.
How are Tropical Avocados better?
Larger in size: The first thing you’ll notice is that they are humongous compared to the varieties you can buy at the supermarket. Each Tropical Avocado is about the equivalent of 4 Haas avocados. You can prep just one and feed your whole family.
Longer cut life: One of my pet peeves with those other avocados is that they turn black and the flavor changes right away, in the industry they call that oxidizing. The Tropical Avocados oxidize much slower which means that you can cut them and leave them out for longer. You can even keep one in the fridge wrapped in foil for two to three days after you cut them.
How do you know when they are ripe?
These avocados are ripe while the skin is still green, which is a little confusing if you are not used to them. Luckily, there is a simple way to know when they are ready. How? When you squeeze them and they give in just a little, they are ready to eat.
Where are they from?
These avocados are grown in the tropics on a beautiful farm in the Dominican Republic and in the off season over there, they come from beautiful and sunny Florida, where we are based. They grow with plenty of natural rain in nutrient-rich soil. They are naturally large, non-GMO and delicious.
Our Large Box comes with about 8 Large Tropical Avocados.
Our Regular Box has 4 Large Tropical Avocados.
Galangal is also known as Thai Ginger and it's basically a close cousin of your beloved Ginger that has more of a citrus punch in its flavor and it's also less moist and has more of a dense texture. It's less spicy than ginger
Galanga is a root and it's often used in Thai and Southeast Asian cuisine and it's often used in soups and curries and it's the secret ingredient that takes that Tom Kha Gai soup to another level.
Get your Box of Galangal root today and start making wonderful foody things happen.
The pome in pomegranate comes from the Latin word for apple and granate from the word for seed. Originally from Persia and northern India, pomegranates are now cultivated around the world, this variety comes to us from California.Ancient texts describe the pomegranate as a sacred fruit that brought fertility, abundance and luck. We need at least two of those these days. Today, the pomegranate has a whole bunch of health benefits that we are sure our Tropifruiters are pretty well versed in. The peel of the pomegranate is inedible, but once you open the red exterior, you'll find a beautiful array of crimson-colored seeds that have a tart, tangy and sweet combination of flavors that will leave you wanting more.
About Atemoya Fruit (Pineapple Sugar Apple)
Atemoya fruit (also called pineapple sugar apple in parts of Asia) is a hybrid of two well-known cousins, the cherimoya and the sugar apple fruit, bred in Miami in the early 20th century. Cut a ripe atemoya in half and you get creamy white flesh with the texture of a soft pear, a flavor profile that lands somewhere between vanilla custard, banana, and pineapple, and dark seeds you should set aside rather than chew. Each box ships about 8 pounds of small-batch farmed, hand-picked atemoya fruit from our family farm partners across South Florida and the tropics. The fresh atemoya you receive ships at the start of its ripening window, ready to soften on your counter at home, with free U.S. shipping and the Arrive Fresh Guarantee on every order.
Why Choose Fresh Atemoya from Tropical Fruit Box?
Hand-picked from family farm partners and shipped during the short atemoya season, with the Arrive Fresh Guarantee covering every box.
Sourced direct from small-batch growers in South Florida, where the original atemoya hybrid was bred and continues to thrive.
Free U.S. shipping on every fresh atemoya order, with no minimum and no surprise fees at checkout.
Tropical Fruit Box was built so families across the U.S. could buy atemoya and other rare tropical fruits direct from farmers, not corporate distributors.

Best Fresh Atemoya For...
First-Time Atemoya Eaters
The best fresh atemoya for first-timers is the standard 8-pound box. Wait until the fruit yields to gentle pressure, halve it, and scoop with a spoon. A forgiving introduction to the Annona family.
Cherimoya Fans Looking for Variety
The best atemoya for cherimoya fans is this same box. Half the DNA comes from the cherimoya, the other half from the sugar apple fruit, with a sweeter, more aromatic finish than either parent.
Tropical Desserts and Smoothies
The best atemoya fruit for desserts and smoothies blends easily with orange juice, pineapple juice, or yogurt. The custardy texture acts as both flavor and thickener; some people freeze it directly for instant ice cream.
Florida and Caribbean Family Recipes
The best place to buy atemoya online if you grew up calling it pineapple sugar apple, anón, or chirimorinon. Our growers cultivate the same varieties that turn up in Cuban and South American kitchens.
In Greece, they are called the divine fruit, it’s the national fruit of Japan and in the U.S. this variety is about 80% of the market. We don’t know what you guys think but the Fuyu Persimmon has something going for it.
Their taste is a mixture of a rich, honey-like mild flavor that’s like nothing you’ve ever had before, unless of course… you’ve eaten persimmons :) They have fiber and vitamins that we are not going to mention because Facebook keeps blocking our listings saying that we are selling medical devices so, there...have you heard the phrase food as medicine? You get it then.
Thank you Meta for making our jobs harder and thank you for considering shopping for some delicious Fuyu persimmons that will be delivered right to your door thanks to the modern magic of internet and shipping.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do roots count as anti-inflammatory foods?
Absolutely—in fact, they are some of the most potent anti-inflammatory agents in the plant kingdom. Turmeric, Ginger, and Galangal are rhizomes that contain highly concentrated bioactive compounds like curcumin and gingerol. These roots function differently than fruits; while fruits often provide antioxidants to prevent damage, these roots contain compounds that can actually help modulate the body's inflammatory signaling pathways.
How do I use fresh turmeric and ginger at home?
The easiest way is to peel them with a spoon, slice or grate, and add to smoothies, teas, or stir-fries. A thumb-sized piece of each goes a long way. You can also juice them for a concentrated wellness shot with lime and honey.
Can I eat these fruits every day?
Absolutely. Fruits like papaya, pineapple, and pomegranate are great for daily eating. They are naturally rich in vitamins and fiber and work well in smoothies, snacks, or just on their own.
How should I store fresh roots after delivery?
Ginger, turmeric, and galangal keep well in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. For longer storage, peel, slice, and freeze them in small bags so they are always ready when you need them.
Can I get these delivered on a regular schedule?
Yes. Several items in this collection are available through our Subscribe & Save program, so you can set up automatic deliveries and always have fresh anti-inflammatory fruits and roots on hand.
How do citrus fruits like pomelo and mandarins help with inflammation?
Citrus fruits are famous for Vitamin C, but they also contain specific phytonutrients called bioflavonoids (like hesperidin and naringenin). These compounds have been shown to inhibit inflammatory markers in the body. Large citrus like pomelo and sweet Moroccan mandarins provide a concentrated dose of these antioxidants, which help protect your cells from oxidative stress.
Why is avocado considered an anti-inflammatory fruit?
Avocados are unique because they provide high levels of monounsaturated fatty acids and Vitamin E. These healthy fats help reduce C-reactive protein (a marker of inflammation) in the body. Furthermore, eating avocado alongside other fruits in this collection—like pineapple or papaya—actually helps your body absorb the fat-soluble antioxidants found in those fruits, making your anti-inflammatory routine even more effective.
How do I use limes and pomelos for wellness?
Limes are perfect for alkalizing wellness shots when paired with ginger and turmeric. Pomelos, which are less acidic than grapefruits, can be eaten fresh or added to salads. The thick pith of the pomelo is also rich in bioflavonoids; while usually discarded, some enthusiasts zest the outer rind to add a potent antioxidant boost to teas and infusions.
